Ads that stop the scroll.
Nobody opens Instagram to buy from you. Meta advertising is about interrupting someone well enough that they want to know more — and then making the next step a single tap, not a form marathon.

- Ad copy & creative layout
- Click-to-WhatsApp campaigns
- Instant lead forms
- Retargeting from site traffic
- Weekly written report
Reach is the cheapest thing to buy on Meta. If your campaign shows huge reach and no enquiries, it was almost certainly optimised for the wrong objective — Meta gave you exactly what you asked for, and what you asked for was worthless.
01 The difference
Catching demand vs creating it.
The most expensive mistake on Meta is treating it like Google. They are not competing channels — they do different jobs at different points.
Google — they are already looking
- The person typed what they want. Intent already exists.
- Higher cost per click, higher conversion rate.
- Best for urgent, researched or emergency purchases.
- Text does the work. Creative barely matters.
Meta — they were not looking
- You interrupt a feed. Intent has to be created.
- Cheaper clicks, lower conversion rate, bigger reach.
- Best for visual products, offers and impulse decisions.
- Creative is 80% of performance. The targeting is the easy part.
02 Campaign formats
Three ways to take the enquiry.
Where the tap lands changes everything about lead quality — and about how fast you need to respond.
One tap opens a chat with your business, pre-filled with what they were looking at. No form, no landing page, no friction. It works best when somebody is genuinely available to reply within minutes — and it is wasted when the chat sits unread until evening.
Meta pre-fills name, phone and email, so submitting takes one tap. Volume is high and quality is lower for exactly that reason. These convert when you call back within minutes and waste money when you call back tomorrow.
Slower and more expensive per lead, but the person read the page before enquiring, so the conversation starts further along. Only worth it when the page is genuinely built for social traffic, not a homepage.

03 Audiences
Who actually sees it.
Meta’s targeting has got broader and its algorithm has got better. The skill now is feeding it good signals, not micro-selecting interests.
- Location & radius
- For a local business this does most of the work. A 5km radius around a clinic beats any interest stack you can build.
- Custom audiences
- People who visited your site, watched your video, opened your WhatsApp, or engaged with the page. Warm, cheap and consistently the best performer.
- Lookalikes
- Meta finds people who resemble your existing customers or leads. Only as good as the list you feed it — which is why tracking matters.
- Broad targeting
- Almost no restrictions, letting the algorithm find buyers from conversion data. Works well once the pixel has enough events, badly before that.
- Exclusions
- Existing customers, recent leads and job applicants removed, so you stop paying to advertise to people who already called.
Costing
Spend and fee, kept separate.
Ad spend goes to Meta from your own card, in a Business Manager you own. Management is a flat monthly fee — never a cut of your budget.
- Setup, pixel and creative quoted as one number
- No minimum ad budget
- Ad copy and layout included; photo and video shoots are not

04 FAQs
Meta questions.
Especially the one about why reach never turned into a phone call.
Google catches demand that already exists — someone is searching for what you sell. Meta creates demand by putting you in front of people who match your buyer profile but were not looking. Most businesses need both eventually, but usually not on day one.
Click-to-WhatsApp is often the single best-performing format here, because it removes the form entirely — the person taps once and is in a chat with you. It works best when someone is actually available to reply quickly, and wastes money when the chat sits unread.
They convert well because they pre-fill the user’s details, but the leads are colder for the same reason — it takes one tap and very little thought. They work when you have the discipline to call back within minutes, and waste money when you do not.
Ad copy and layout are part of the work. Product photography and video shoots are not, but existing photos and simple graphics can usually be turned into something that performs. Where a shoot is genuinely needed, I will say so rather than working around bad source material.
Reach is the cheapest thing to buy on Meta and the least meaningful. Usually the campaign was optimised for the wrong objective — reach or engagement instead of conversions — or the landing page was never built to convert social traffic. Both are fixable.
